On the eighth day of Christmas….
Living in chilly Canada, whether it’s the snow in Ontario or the Rain in Vancouver, you know how important warm dry socks are! After countless hiking trips, skiing days and just long walks in the winter, I have realized the importance of good wool socks. They keep your feet warm and dry and are a sustainable fibre choice- can you think of anything better to get your secret santa??
I am always keen on purchases that last a long time and wool is definitely one of those options! Here are some of my favourite things about this incredible fibre!
Wool is a terrific insulator, but also keeps you cool in the summer
Hypoallergenic so great for all those on your list who struggle with bacteria etc
Renewable Fibre as Sheep continue to grow their coat
Wool naturally breaks down and so has a product lifecycle that won’t end up in our landfills
There are plenty of local stores that sell good quality wool socks and a lot of companies that are making a difference with their purchases. I personally love the quality of both icebreaker and smartwool. I have walked a lot of miles in my wool socks and know they will last for many more! These types of products are something I can feel good about buying!
We all know that socks will most likely end up in everyones stockings, so why not make them a sustainable and long lasting gift? And while you’re at it get yourself a pair too!
