12 Days To a Clean Christmas: Day 6 Plant The Love
/Day 6: Plant Propagations
Homemade
Conscious of Environmental Impact
On the sixth day of Christmas…
If you’ve been to my apartment than you will know that we LOVE PLANTS. Our space isn’t huge but since we don’t have outdoor space we bring the outdoors in with all our plant dreams! When I discovered plant propagation I was pretty ecstatic. I mean you pay for one plant and get all sorts of free babies! Of course certain plants propagate better than others but most house plants do a pretty awesome job of reproducing!
Some of my favourite propagators are:
Snake Plants
Spider Plants
Rubber Plants
These guys are pretty self sufficient, you can either cut off a section and place them in water or directly into fresh soil! Hilton Carter has some awesome videos and tutorials on how to propagate! It takes time but these will be the perfect gift for anyone on your list! Not only is this a homemade gift, it’s also the gift that keeps on giving! Plants if cared for, have a very long life and are known for being incredible air purifiers!
You could make this even more unique by finding a fun container such as a ceramic mug, a thrifted pot or I have even done propagations into cute little Italian tomato sauce tins! Just be sure to put a few stones in the bottom of your pot for drainage!
Happy Planting :)
